About Planet Soccer
Argali Planet Soccer is a soccer specialty business which has been serving the soccer community in Minnesota since 1997. We are locally owned with store front operations in Burnsville, Blaine, Maplewood and Minneapolis. We service many local clubs with all their uniform, spirit wear, training and equipment needs.
It is Planet Soccer’s mission to provide each customer that walks through our doors with individualized service. Our staff is like a family, and we aim to treat each customer like family as well. As a local partner to our client clubs, we take care of our members on personal level and value the community we are able to build with clubs’ staff and families.
It is our goal to service all your soccer needs whether you are a youth or adult, a recreation or professional player for the betterment of the game.

The Founder
Sia Rahimi developed his love for the game playing with his neighborhood buddies in Tehran, Iran. He emigrated to the United States after high school. His first stop was in the San Francisco Bay Area, but within months he found himself transferred to the University of Minnesota and living in a dorm room overlooking a freezing mighty Mississippi river. He found hockey and became a fan of the North Stars. He also joined a soccer league at the University of Minnesota and subsequently became a soccer referee to earn money to pay for his schooling.
In the early years when he was busy officiating, Sia managed to get married and start a family, become a soccer coach, and establish the first Planet Soccer store on Lyndale Avenue in Minneapolis. He worked for Alan Merrick Soccer Academies in the 1990’s and received his USSF C License in 1994. Much of his coaching centered around his daughters’ teams, who to this day remain players with a passion for the game.
Sia remains a staple at the Uptown Planet Soccer store, enjoys being involved with member clubs, and recently added the new role of “Grandpa” to his resume. His favorite part of the business is to help players find just the right shoe and equipment to help them be successful on the field. Customers that Sia helped years ago are now bringing their children in so he can fit them for shoes. It is this type of family atmosphere that Sia has tried to instill at all Planet Soccer stores and in our team sales division.
Sia’s passion for soccer lead him to become a true student of the game by becoming a high level soccer referee. He has officiated at the youth, high school, college (divisions I, II, III, Nationally) and professional levels. His referee career spanned nearly 40 years until he retired in 2020.
The Team
Our staff at our 4 store locations are there to assist you with your soccer specific needs. We have experienced people at each store in fitting players for cleats and picking out the right gear to give them confidence and enhance their game.
We also have a Team Sales staff dedicated to facilitating the ordering and delivery of the club or team’s uniforms, equipment, spirit wear, and coaching gear. They are excellent at being flexible and accommodating to every club and team recognizing each is unique.
Our talented Production Team works behind the scenes to ensure top notch printing and quality for all of our stores and club partners. Together, our valued staff works to provide the best experience possible for our customers.
